Blushing, sweet, fragrant, and juicy, Oregon peaches are best to be eaten fresh. Peaches are the third most popular fruit in the nation behind apples & oranges. Ripe peaches will keep 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator, but should be set in room temperature if they are not yet ripe.
Oregon peaches do still have the fuzz although most of the peaches that are sold in markets are freestone, and de-fuzzed by the grower. They are best and cheapest in the summer.
